Protections Provided Through the Violence Against Women Act
HUD provides protections for victims of acts domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault. This is true regardless of gender. While victims are still required to meet criminal and screening requirements, you will not be subjected to denial solely because you are a victim of an act (aka VAWA Crimes) covered under VAWA 2013.
